Marie Pavic

Marie Pavie
Cluster roses , Alégatière , 1888

Very elegant, double roses, nicely opening, white with a little blush pink. A compact, low, bushy, spine-free shrub from earlier times that remains a winner. Pleasantly scented and repeat-flowering until the first frost.

Although little is known about the origin of this rose, it is one of the first polyanthas. This is the old name for small-flowered, low, compact spray roses. ‘Marie Pavic' exudes a lot of charm through the whole of pink flower buds with elegant white flowers that smell good. The branches have no spines and healthy, dense foliage. Initially the leaves are tinted brownish but they turn to bright green. It flowers continuously throughout the summer until the first frost arrives, making this variety a valuable garden rose. It is used as a parterre, as a border, as a hedge, solitary, in small groups between perennials and in pots or containers. If the plant needs to stay low, it is best to prune it short every year, at 10 cm. If not pruned, it can grow into a higher, more broad shrub.
