A richly flowering shrub with very large clusters. The medium-sized flowers are filled and open flat, showing their stamens. The flower buds and flowers are initially apricot soft yellow and quickly change colour to creamy white. During the summer their flowering is paler than during the autumn, when the colours are more intense. The flowers have a pleasant volatile herbal scent. The flower clusters are so large that they completely cover the plant so that no leaves are visible. The plant is repeat flowering and grows upright. The lanceolate leaves are medium green and glossy. ‘Machera’ is named after the crossroads of Roman roads in the Luxembourg city of Grevenmacher, a city with many wine growers. The soft yellow colour refers to their white Mosel wines.
The plant is ideal as a solitary, in groups between perennials, in a hedge and in a pot.
