Oeillet Flamand
An old gallica rose with medium-sized sweet-smelling, filled flat flowers. Special is the colour gradient, darker carmine pink at the start and then fading with lighter edges that colour to white soft pink. The flowers are in clusters. The leaf is hard, leathery and dark green. A shrub with few thorns.

Where does the name come from? Could it indicate that the rose was obtained from the Belgian grower Louis Parmentier from Edingen and brought to the market by Vibert in 1845? On the other hand, 'Oeillet Flamant' indicates a type of striped carnations, which combines at least 3 colours in stripes. Carnations were more popular than roses at that time.
What always attracts us with this rose are its upright branches with graceful clusters of dark carmine red flower buds. Proliferation is common. The rose that is in circulation with modern growers and also with us, is not the striped variety that can be found in old books.
