This variety is a cross of 'Trier' and R. chinensis ‘Mutabilis’. The name 'Plaisanterie' refers to the changing character of the bloom. Indeed, the single roses (4 cm) are orange in bud, when budding they are yellow, once the rose has opened flat they become pink to end in dark pink-purple. The shrub is very healthy and disease-free. The foliage is reddish-green like that of the Rosa chinensis ‘Mutabilis’ of which the variety has the appearance. This plant flowers in May-June and repeat-flowers in August-September.
