Nestor
Medium-sized, double, quartered flower, magenta with pink and purple hues, strongly scented. The plant has bright green leaves and small prickles. This is a beautiful rose that belongs in every garden.

An interesting gallica rose because of its beautifully shaped flowers that smell strongly and deliciously sweet. The large flowers are first cup-shaped and then recurved with a neatly quartered centre where the lilac-pink colour is deeper. As it ages its colour fades to mauve-pink with grey shadows. They grow alone or in groups of up to 4 flowers. The foliage is rich green and the branches have many small prickles. The name Nestor refers to the ancient Greek legend where king Nestor is the son of Chloris and the wisest man in Homer's Iliad.
