Marie Louise
A strong, sweetly scented damask rose with large verydouble quartered flowers. They are dark lilac-pink and fade. Upright shrub with dense; large light green leaves. An old rose that is still very popular!

'Marie Louise' has very large filled cup-shaped flowers with a beautiful lilac-pink colour. The flower buds are red, the flowers are dark lilac-pink at first and fade, the back of the petals is lighter in colour. The flowers open flat with central petals that bend back to show a button eye. The flowers spread an intensely sweet scent. The large leaves are light green, very attractive and stand lushly on the plant. The branches grow straight up and can lean over due to the weight of the flowers. Ideal as a solitary or in a group but also for bouquets and potpourri.
Marie Louise (1791-1847) was the daughter of the Austrian emperor and second wife of Napoleon.
